Debbie Taylor wins top hospitality award
Debbie Taylor, General Manager of Rocco Forte's The Balmoral, has been awarded the most coveted accolade in UK hotel management, Caterer and Hotelkeeper's Manager of The Year.
Debbie Taylor was presented with her Catey statue at a glittering award ceremony on Tuesday night at Grosvenor House in London. Known as the "Oscars" of the UK hospitality industry, The Caterer and Hotelkeeper Awards or Cateys celebrate the highest flyers, strongest performers and hottest brands. Catey winners are nominated, judged and awarded by their industry peers who recognise the highest standards of excellence set by the award winner and their outstanding contribution to the hospitality industry.
Debbie Taylor joins an illustrious list of previous winners and is the third The Rocco Forte Collection Catey winner. Sir Rocco Forte and his late father Lord Forte of Ripley, were awarded The Caterer and Hotelkeeper Special Award in 1999 and Lifetime Achievement Award in 1984, respectively.

Rocco Forte's The Balmoral's cutting-edge training and development strategy has secured a 68 per cent staff retention rate and a 90 per cent management retention rate, with 30 internal promotions in the last year. Debbie oversaw a record-breaking business performance in 2006 with an increase in high-level visitors to the hotel, as well as effective management, resulting in an impressive increase of 22 per cent on the previous year.
