Debbie Taylor awarded Master Innholders Accolade
Debbie Taylor was presented with her certificate at The Worshipful Company of Innholders Annual Court Dinner in London, on Tuesday 5 June 2007. She is now one of only two women who hold the accolade in Scotland, with a total of nine in the organisation worldwide. As well as becoming a Master Innholder, Debbie will also become a Freeman of the City of London at a ceremony at The Guildhall on 7 September 2007.
The Master Innholders was created in 1978 at the invitation of The Worshipful Company of Innholders who received their first charter from Henry V111 in 1515. The main aim of the organisation is to promote and encourage excellence in hotels and has brought worldwide recognition and benefit to the hotel industry and members. Members join by invitation only and represent the most eminent hoteliers throughout the UK and worldwide.
Richard Ball, Chairman of the Master Innholders and 2006 Hotelier of the Year commented: "Debbie's commitment toward the hotel industry and tourism in Scotland, as well as her personal achievements at The Balmoral, made her an ideal candidate for membership of the prestigious Master Innholder organisation."
This latest tribute is a further testament to Debbie's vision for Rocco Forte's The Balmoral, which is "to be the best hotel in Britain". This award joins The Balmoral's impressive list of accolades over the past year. Most recently the hotel was voted best in Scotland and seventh best hotel in Europe by Celebrated Living" - American Airlines passenger magazine's Readers' Choice Platinum List.
Debbie Taylor commented: "I am thrilled to receive this prestigious award, but would like to attribute it to my world-class team. I am very honoured to work with such professional and dedicated people, who provide our guests with the highest standards of hospitality."
