Rocco Forte's The Balmoral is one of top ten in Europe
Rocco Forte's The Balmoral has been voted seventh best hotel in Europe by readers of Celebrated Living, the luxury magazine for American Airlines' Premium Class Passengers. The Balmoral's position in this prestigious list of Top 10 European Hotels has moved up one place from last year.
The luxury travel readers voted for their favourite hotels, spas, golf courses, cruises and destinations in the annual Readers' Choice Platinum List. The Balmoral appears alongside world-renowned properties including The Four Seasons Hotels, George V, Paris and Hotel Cipriani, Venice and was specially praised for its award-winning Five-Star Kids programme, equally welcoming "Babies, children, and teens… with amenities like customised robes."
2006 was a record-breaking year for the hotel with a business performance up 22% from the previous year. This year's new position reflects The Balmoral's continuing popularity with guests from the USA. In 2006 one in four of the hotel's visitors came from the United States, with the other top markets including high-end visitors from Russia, Germany, Ireland and Switzerland, recognising Scotland as a world - class destination. In addition the awards ranked Rocco Forte's The Balmoral as Scotland's best hotel for the second year running.
